Transportation Construction Inspector

Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience

• High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
• 1 year of surveying, engineering or construction management experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Preferred Education & Experience

Associate degree in engineering or building construction and 2-3 years of surveying, engineering or construction management experience preferred.

Licensures and Certifications

Valid driver's license required.

APWA Certified Public Infrastructure Inspector (CPII)

Physical Ability: Tasks involve the regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds); may occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 100 pounds).

Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
