Airport Assistant General Manager of Planning & Development
General Description and Classification Standards
Assists the Airport Senior Deputy General Manager with ensuring aviation facilities meet all expectations of the commercial aviation travelers in the Atlanta region. Leads a team of planners, asset/facility managers, project managers, and construction managers to determine the facilities requirements and deliver them in a timely, cost effective, environmentally sustainable, and responsible manner. This is a full-time supervisory leads a large permanently assigned work group. Groups may be professional, technical, administrative, or construction/maintenance/ infrastructure. Positions at this level would typically lead a unit that has unique or distinctive function with highly technical or sensitive responsibilities.
Normally receives guidance regarding overall program, short-term and mid-term objectives, scheduling, unusual priorities, etc. but is free to set work methods, timetables, performance standards, etc.
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Engineering or a similar discipline (Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis). 5 years of Planning & Development experience including some project management or leadership experience.
Preferred Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a similar discipline. Demonstrated 10-15 years of Planning & Development experience including some project management and leadership experience. At least 5 years of experience at a large hub Airport.
Licensures and Certifications
Professional Engineer or Registered Architect license or related certifications preferred.
